The Assembly Line
- The Automobile had been in existence sine the late 1800's. As a result of the creation of the assembly line, automobiles became easily produced in a short period of time.
- In 1915 a Model T cost $440, but after they began to be mass-produced on the assembly line, they cost $290 in 1925.
- The top number of cars produced by an assembly line in one day was 9109. 15 million cars made and sold by 1927.
- Because Detroit becomes a centre for automobile productivity, it earns the name "motor city." Time has shown that the quality of life of the people of Detroit is closely tied to the automobile industry.
