Motives of France
- France was represented at the Paris Peace Conference by their president George Clemenceau.
- Contrary to the motives of the United States, Clemenceau wish to punish Germany so badly that they would be so weak that they would never gain the power needed to wage another war. - They way they went about this was to charge "war reparations" (payments made by the country deemed guilty to those other countries involved) that were so high that Germany would be forever in debt. |
