The beginnings of Hitler.
- The 1923 Munich Beer Hall putsch, and attempt to overthrow the government after protesting the French Occupation of the Ruhr, was Hitler's first attempt at gaining power in Germany.
- Supposed to emulate Mussolini's March on Rome.
- It was unsuccessful.
- Both Hitler and Gen. Ludendorff arrested and sent to Landsberg prison.
- It is in Landsberg Prison that Hitler writes Mein Kampf.
- Mein Kampf (My Struggle), focuses on the defining Hitler's policies such as:
- His anti-semitism.
- His hatred of the Treaty of Versailles.
- His Imperialism and desire for a great Germany (lebensrawm)
