War Communism

- Suppression of private trade
- Peasants are forced to offer up everything they had save for the bare essentials.
The New Economic Plan
- In 1921, Lenin realized that people were failing to understand the appeal of Communism amid all of the toil of War Communism.
- The New Economic plan permitted private trade as a way of giving people an incentive to work, because the possibility of making personal profit was suddenly available.
- Small factories could be purchased by a co-operative for private ownership.
- Small parts of the Russian Industry began to recover as a result of the New Economic Plan.
